Συνεχίζοντας την επιτυχημένη του φεστιβαλική πορεία, με συμμετοχή σε πάνω από 20 Διεθνή φεστιβάλ και 13 βραβεύσεις μέχρι στιγμής, το πολυαναμενόμενο ντοκιμαντέρ μεγάλου μήκους “The Stray Story: A dogumentary” έρχεται στις κινηματογραφικές αίθουσες του Κ-Cineplex σε όλες τις πόλεις!
Πρόκειται για μια ανεξάρτητη παραγωγή με θέμα τα ακηδεμόνευτα ζώα και τον εθελοντισμό, σε παραγωγή και σκηνοθεσία της βραβευμένης μουσικού και σεναριογράφου Χριστίνας Γεωργίου. Το ντοκιμαντέρ γυρίστηκε σε πέντε χώρες και είναι καρπός έρευνας και γυρισμάτων των τελευταίων επτά χρόνων.
Είναι μέρος μιας ευρύτερης εκστρατείας από την Blunatic Pictures, που περιλαμβάνει δωρεάν ενημερωτικά βίντεο και δράσεις, με στόχο τη διαφώτιση του κοινού για το θέμα των ακηδεμόνευτων ζώων, τα αίτια, τις συνέπειες και τις λύσεις του. Οι προβολές θα πραγματοποιούνται από τις 3 μέχρι τις 9 Νοεμβρίου στις 19:30. Η τιμή εισιτηρίου ανέρχεται σε 9 ευρώ για ενήλικες και 7 ευρώ για παιδιά κάτω των 11 ετών, και μέρος των καθαρών εσόδων θα δοθεί σε φιλοζωικό σκοπό.
Προσκλήσεις για την avant premiere στις 2 Νοεμβρίου (K–Cineplex Στροβόλου), στην οποία θα παρευρεθούν πολλοί από τους συντελεστές της ταινίας από την Κύπρο και το εξωτερικό, θα κληρωθούν από τον Love FM, που είναι και χορηγός επικοινωνίας, μαζί με την εταιρεία Mesimvria και την Cyprus Mail.

Εθελοντές από Κύπρο, Ελλάδα, Αμερική και Ρουμανία μας ανοίγουν τα σπίτια τους και τις καρδιές τους, και μοιράζονται τις εμπειρίες, τις επιτυχίες, τις δυσκολίες και τα διλήμματά τους, δίνοντας φωνή στα 200 000 000 ακηδεμόνευτα του πλανήτη κι εμπνέοντάς μας να συνδράμουμε στον αγώνα τους. Σε συνδυασμό με συνεντεύξεις από εκπρόσωπους διεθνών οργανισμών για την ευημερία των ζώων, το ντοκιμαντέρ εκθέτει το πρόβλημα αλλά και τις λύσεις του, ενώ παράλληλα εξερευνά την ανθρώπινη κατάσταση στον δυτικό κόσμο.
Η ταινία προβάλλεται στην Κύπρο την κατάλληλη στιγμή, αφού μόλις διανύσαμε ένα καλοκαίρι με ρεκόρ στις εγκαταλείψεις ζώων, όχι μόνο λόγω διακοπών, αλλά και ως συνέπεια των πολυάριθμων αγορών κατοικιδίων που έγιναν εν μέσω πανδημίας και την ανεξέλεγκτης αναπαραγωγής τους.

The award-winning documentary “The Stray Story: A dogumentary” at K-Cineplex nationwide from 3 November!
Following a successful festival round, having screened in more than 20 international film festivals and having received 13 awards to date, “The Stray Story: A dogumentary” is finally screening in K-Cineplex nationwide!
The documentary is an independent production about stray animals and volunteer work, directed by established composer and screenwriter Christina Georgiou. It was filmed in five countries, and is the outcome of seven-year-long research and filming.
It is part of a larger campaign by Blunatic Pictures, which includes free educational videos and activities, with the aim of raising awareness about the stray issue, its causes, consequences and solutions. The ultimate goal is to inspire the audience to help, each in their own way and ability. Let’s make a start by helping us spread the message! The screenings will be held from 3 to 9 of November at 19:30. Ticket price is 9 euro for adults and 7 euro for children under 11, and part of the net profits will be donated to an animal welfare cause.
Invitations to the avant premiere on 2 November (K-Cineplex Strovolos), which will be attended by several of the film’s cast and crew from Cyprus and abroad, will be offered in competitions and raffles by Love FM, which is our Media Sponsor, along with Mesimvria and Cyprus Mail.
SYNOPSIS:
In a consumerist Western society where everything, including man’s best friend, is treated as disposable, everyday people aiding stray dogs remind us what being human(e) is all about. Volunteers from Cyprus, Greece, Romania and the United States open their homes and their hearts, becoming a voice for the 200 000 000 voiceless strays of the world and inspiring us to pitch in. Through their experiences, successes, difficulties and dilemmas, as well as through interviews with representatives of International Animal Welfare Organizations, the documentary exposes the problem and its solutions, while tackling the human condition in the western world.
The film’s cinematic release arrives at the right time, considering this past summer marked a record in abandonments of pets in Cyprus, not only due to the holidays, but also as a consequence of the numerous pet purchases that took place during the pandemic, and their uncontrolled reproduction.
PARALLEL ACTIVITY
Alongside the release of the documentary, the following educational activity will take place:
WORKSHOP TITLED: “POSITIVE TRAINING: BE THE PERSON YOUR DOG THINGS YOU ARE” with dog behaviorist and training consultant, Stephanos Severis, on Saturday 22 October at 11 a.m. at CVAR, 285 Ermou street in old town Nicosia. The workshop will be held in Greek and is organized by Blunatic Pictures and the Cyprus School of Dog Training.
