A Research and Training Workshop for enhancing and strengthening Integrative Oncology Globally will be organized at the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT) by the Society of Integrative Oncology, The German Oncology Centre and the Cancer Research and Innovation Centre (CARIC) of CUT.

The event will take place on May 29 and 30, 2023, in the building of CUT “Tassos Papadopoulos” (Amphitheater 1).

“It is a great honor for us to host this significant event at the Cyprus University of Technology”, said the Head of the Integrative Medicine Department at the German Oncology Centre Dr. Konstantina Stylianou, noting that “this research and training workshop features esteemed researchers, scholars, and practitioners in the field of integrative oncology from around the world”.

“Our aim”, she said, “is to provide an inspiring atmosphere for engaging discussions, collaborative research, and the exchange of valuable insights regarding Integrative Oncology in Cyprus and around the world”.

“Integrative oncology research is at the forefront of advancing our understanding of cancer treatment and patient care. By integrating conventional approaches with complementary therapies and holistic practices, we strive to enhance the overall well-being of cancer patients and improve treatment outcomes. This workshop offers an exceptional platform for sharing the latest research findings, exploring innovative methodologies, and discussing emerging trends in this dynamic field”,  Dr. Stylianou highlighted.

Throughout the workshop, she added, participants will have the opportunity to interact with renowned experts, engage in stimulating panel discussions, and see research results from around the world. “We have carefully curated a comprehensive program that encompasses a wide range of topics, including personalized medicine, novel treatment modalities, mind-body interventions, supportive care, survivorship, and much more. We are confident that these sessions will foster meaningful collaborations and spark new ideas that will shape the future of integrative oncology research”, she said.

In addition to the academic program, she said, “we have organized social events and networking opportunities to facilitate the exchange of ideas and promote camaraderie among participants”.

“We would like to express our deepest gratitude to all the participants, CUT university students, presenters, sponsors, and supporters who have contributed to the success of this workshop. Your expertise, dedication, and passion for research are invaluable assets that will undoubtedly drive the progress in integrative oncology”, said Dr Stylianou.

“We extend our warmest welcome to the SIO Integrative Oncology Research Workshop in Cyprus. Let us seize this opportunity to collaborate, share knowledge, and ignite innovation that will shape the future of complementary cancer therapy research and treatments”, the Head of the Integrative Medicine Department of the German Oncology Centre concluded.
